															The Department Of Economics was Started In 1981 as a part of Arts Section with Economics, History and Political Science as (E.H.P) Group combination with the inception of K.V.R, K.V.R & M.K.R COLLEGE. Since Its Inception, eminent teachers worked as Lecturers bringing name and fame to the Department among affiliated colleges of Acharya Nagarjuna University.
Dr.R.SREE RAMA RAJU, M.A, PhD, Laid Excellent foundation to the department. The department has very good reputation in the state universities on account of good standards and results. Since the inception of the department,100% results has become a permanent feature of the Department.
The department conducts guest lectures, seminars, quiz programmes, economic and social surveys also. It has developed linkages with cooperative societies, banks and voluntary organizations for rural development. most of the students of B.A (H.E.P) have secured good positions in every walk of life as officers, professionals, politicians, etc.

The department was started with SRI Dr R.SRIRAMA RAJU as first member of the faculty in our department. Later the department accommodated SRI K.BRAHMA REDDY. During his time the department was well developed. Another member to join the department was SRI D.L.N.Raju. All of them worked for the overall development of the department. Sri Sankararao Chinta received his M.A.,B.Ed.,P.G.D.A.S. degrees from Acharya Nagarjuna University. He is extending his services to the college in different capacities.
