Khajipalem is a village in Guntur district surrounded by many villages In the past, the students of this area had to go nearly 20 kms to pursue their degree courses.  The poor rural area people felt it inconvenient for continuing the education of their wards.  Especially parents of Girl students were not willing to send their children to distant places.  Taking the need for a Degree College in this area into consideration the elders and the philanthropists of this area established KVR, KVR & MKR College in Khajipalem village in 1981 and got affiliation to Andhra University then.

            Good health is one of the hall marks of the complete individual.  In this hectic world, where the working individual follows a grueling schedule, good health along with plenty of stamina has become an important requirement.  If we are not able to remain fit enough to cope with our hectic daily schedules, we cannot be successful in our lives.  So physical Education has become an essential part of perfect education.

            The management of KVR, KVR & MKR College, Khajipalem. Deeply believes that education will be perceived properly when body and mind are healthy and for attaining this, physical education is compulsory. The Department of Physical Education was started in the college visit from its inception. The qualified and efficient staff members are appointed in the department and physical education is made compulsory to all the students who joined in the college. It is remarkable that equal importance is given to both academics and physical training.

The special feature of the college is that the management offers nutritious food freely to the students who participate in Games and sports competitions. There are a number of sports persons who got medals at state level, national level and international level from this college. The Department of Physical Education offers training to the students of the college for getting success in physical tests for various employments.  More than 200 young men of this college joined in Defence service and a number of young men and women got jobs in Indian Railways, AP Home Department, Revenue Department, School Education, Intermediate Education and Higher Education departments.  About 30 students of this college are presently working as Physical Education Teachers and Lecturers in Physical Education across the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

            The residents of khajipalem and nearly villages who are interested in sports and games utilize the facilities provided in the play ground during the holidays of the college and maintain healthy atmosphere.

            Our playground hosted many sports and games competitions are conducted in the play ground of the college.  Some important competitions are 1) University Inter Collegiate sports and Tournaments 2) Games& sports competitions at District level and State Level 3) under 19 & 17 School Games and sports and 4) Rural Games and Sports Competitions.

            In the physical Education wing, the indoor stadium is constructed in multidimensional mode.  It has three shuttle badminton courts, Volleyball courts, and basket ball courts.  Indoor games, Table Tennis chess, Carroms and different types of recreational games are conducted in the indoor stadium.

            400 meters standard track is arranged with 8 lanes. Concrete Basket ball court, Tennis Court, Kho-kho court, Kabaddi court, Hand Ball and Foot Ball court, Ball Badminton Court, Tennicoit Court, Throw ball Court, Long Jump pit, shot-put, Hammer Throw Circle, Discuss throw circle, Javelin Throw circle, Pole-vault pit, High Jump pit, Triple jump pit are available in the college play ground.  The other available equipment is BMI machine, 12 stations multipurpose gym and tread miller.  There are sports massage centre and yoga centre.  Parallel Bar and Horizontal bars are also available in sports campus.  A hospital attached to the college to provide first aid and medical treatment, if necessary.

            For maintenance of college play ground, there are technical equipment like Rottar and Grass cutters.

            our college students participated in state and national level competitions and All India University tournaments and Won medals.

            Last year our student Mr. D. Bala Chandra Kumar, I B.Sc., won the Asian Gold Medal in the Bliss chess international competition held at Singapore. Miss. Swapna and Mr. Jayapaul, the players of our college were qualified for the NET Examinations in the year 2012-13 and 2013-15 respectively.

            Every year Annual sports meet is conducted on 7th December on the birth anniversary of ‘Vydya Raju’ Sri Vegiraju Krishnam Raju, the freedom fighter and eminent Naturopathy doctor of this place.  Outstanding sports persons are is felicitated on that day.  The college has Memorandum of Understanding with Champati Vijaya Rama Raju and Soubhagyamma Trust, Hyderabad for conducting cross country Championship.

            The management of KVR, KVR & MKR College, Khajipalem has always given a greater importance to sports and games in addition to the comprehensive programme of education for boys and girls on the campus.
